Wes Chavez is a Southern California songwriter, performer, and composer whose work spans indie folk, Americana, and musical theater.

A lifelong musician, Wes began playing trumpet in sixth grade before becoming immersed in drums and performing in bands throughout high school. After teaching himself guitar as a teenager, he quickly began writing original songs and fronting local bands, laying the foundation for what would eventually become Moonlight Graham, the project he continues to lead today.

Since forming Moonlight Graham, Wes has performed hundreds of shows across California, including multiple appearances at the House of Blues, and has shared stages with artists such as The Last Revel, Zac Clark, and Robert Jon & The Wreck. The band has also been featured in numerous Sofar Sounds performances, earning a reputation for intimate, story driven live shows.

Beyond his work as a recording artist and performer, Wes has built an impressive career as a composer for the stage. He wrote and performed the music for Blamed: An Established Fiction by Callie Prendaville Johnson, a Fringe Festival favorite that later received an off-Broadway run in New York. More recently, he composed the music for two original musicals, The Leo Fender Project and Fullerton: Our Town! (A Little Bit Wilder).

In 2021, Wes expanded into solo work with the release of his EP Odds and Ends, produced by Jon O'Brien in Idyllwild, California. Whether performing solo, leading Moonlight Graham, or composing for theater, Wes’s work is driven by authentic storytelling, memorable melodies, and a deep connection to the communities and experiences that inspire his songs.
